World Record Attempt: 100K in 24 Hours for Children in Need
I was commissioned to develop a distinctive visual identity for a large-scale fundraising event aiming to break a world record while supporting Children in Need. The project required a cohesive design system applied across a wide range of materials, including posters, leaflets, banners, t-shirts, large-format displays, backdrops, and photo booth frames.
Due to brand restrictions, I was unable to use Pudsey Bear directly within the designs. Instead, I incorporated an orange colour palette as a visual reference, ensuring the connection remained recognisable while maintaining creative originality. To further enhance the concept, I introduced a pencil sketch-style aesthetic. This approach not only symbolised children and creativity but also gave the campaign a distinctive, hand-crafted feel that stood out across all touchpoints.
I was solely responsible for the project from start to finish – interpreting briefs, attending meetings, developing concepts, and delivering final designs. I also collaborated closely with the reprographics team to ensure production accuracy, consistency, and that all deliverables were completed on schedule. I was additionally involved in reprographics work and large format printing, supporting the production and output of final materials.
The event successfully raised £15,671 for Children in Need. In addition, participants generated 123,419 watts of energy, contributing to a Guinness World Record achievement.
